Railway rail fasteners, rail clamps, and their function: Railway rail fasteners are components used to connect rails to sleepers (or other types of rail foundations) on tracks. They are also known as intermediate connecting components. Their function is to secure the rails to the sleepers, maintain the track gauge, and prevent longitudinal and lateral movement of the rails relative to the sleepers.
