Steel Alloy Railway Track E Clips

Steel Alloy Railway Track E Clips

Railway Clip is used to fasten the rails to the underlying base plate together with the concrete sleeper. A variety of different types of heavy-duty clips are used to fasten the rails to the underlying baseplate or Sleeper, one common being the E Clip, which is shaped like a stubby paperclip. Another one is the SKL Tension Clamp, which is also the most widely used type all over the world. Others like KPO Clamp and Nabla Clip, also used in different situations.

Surface Treatment and Adaptation Standards of Railway E-Clips

Surface Treatment Process Corrosion Resistance Performance Applicable Working Environment Adapted Railway Standards Matching Rail Types Application Advantages
Plain Oiled Basic corrosion protection Indoor storage or dry inland railway lines GB/T 1222, DIN 17221 43kg/m, 50kg/m common rails Low cost; Convenient for on-site cutting and secondary processing
Oxygen Black Enhanced wear resistance, moderate corrosion resistance Ordinary trunk railways with infrequent rain BS 970, UIC UIC 54, BS 80 lbs rails Improves surface hardness; Reduces friction between clip and rail shoulder
Zinc Plated Good corrosion resistance against humid air Suburban and urban rail transit lines AREMA, JIS Light rail and subway special rails Extends service life in semi-humid environments; Easy to inspect surface defects
Hot Dip Galvanized Excellent corrosion resistance against salt and moisture Coastal railways and marine - climate areas GOST R - EASC, IS CR 60kg/m, UIC 60 heavy rails Resists salt - spray corrosion; Maintains performance for over 15 years in coastal areas
Dacro Coating Superior corrosion and high-temperature resistance High-speed railways and heavy - load freight lines VALEC, RDSO 115 RE, BS 100 lbs rails Prevents corrosion from train exhaust; Withstands high vibration without coating peeling
