Rail Fast Clip Railroade

Rail Fast Clip Railroade

Railway Clip is used to fasten the rails to the underlying base plate together with the concrete sleeper. A variety of different types of heavy-duty clips are used to fasten the rails to the underlying baseplate or Sleeper, one common being the E Clip, which is shaped like a stubby paperclip. Another one is the SKL Tension Clamp, which is also the most widely used type all over the world. Others like KPO Clamp and Nabla Clip, also used in different situations.

Fastclip System Components & Function

The term "Fastclip" refers to the entire pre-assembled unit, which consists of two main components:

Baseplate: A shoulder made of cast iron or pressed steel, which is fixed to the sleeper.

Clip: The actual elastic clip, made from spring steel, which is pre-mounted onto the baseplate.

This pre-assembly is the system's key feature, allowing for incredibly rapid and error-proof installation on-site.

Component Material Function
Clip Spring Steel (e.g., 60Si2CrA), quenched & tempered. Provides the elastic clamping force to secure the rail foot.
Baseplate (Shoulder) GGG-60 Spheroidal Graphite Iron (Ductile Iron) or Steel. Transfers load from the clip to the sleeper, provides electrical insulation, and holds the clip.
Insulator Glass-Reinforced Polyamide (PA) or other engineering plastics. Electrically insulates the rail from the baseplate/sleeper for track circuit signaling.

Features

Convenient Installation and Maintenance: Fastclips feature the unique Pandrol 'switch on - switch off' function. Sleepers are supplied with all components held captive and the clips set in the parked position. Once the sleepers have been placed and the rail threaded, the clips are simply pushed into the installed position and can automatically achieve the correct clamping force. This enables fast and efficient track installation and reduced maintenance costs.

Good Mobility: Fastclip allows for independent movement of the rail in different directions, reducing wear. This is achieved by separating the electrical insulators into two pieces, one on the side of the rail foot and the other on top of it.

Easy Adjustment: Lateral adjustments on the FC and FE systems can be made quickly and easily with the rail in situ. To swap the rail insulations, the clips simply need to be moved to the 'insulator change' position. Fastclip assembly stiffness can be configured easily by changing the design or material used for the rail pad to adjust the overall track stiffness.

Large Adjustment Range: The fastclip baseplate, a type of fastening assembly, provides a very large range of both vertical and lateral adjustment. Lateral adjustments can be made in the range of +/ - 12 mm per assembly (or +/ - 24 mm on track gauge), and vertical adjustments can be up to +70 mm.

Low Noise: The fastclip baseplate is developed to provide a stiffness characteristic that results in low rolling noise, which is beneficial for reducing environmental noise pollution.
