Products Description
Rail pads are important components in railway track structures. They are mainly installed between rails and sleepers to cushion vibrations and impacts during train travel, protect the roadbed and ensure driving safety.
Gnee Rail also provides customized services. Customers provide drawings and we can customize the appearance, size and surface treatment according to the drawings.

What is polyurethane material?

Polyurethane (PU), whose full name is polyurethane, is a polymer material with excellent mechanical properties and strong plasticity formed by polyols and polyisocyanates through polycondensation reaction. Its synthesis can be traced back to 1937, when Professor Byaer first synthesized straight-chain linear polyurethane resin using 1,6-hexamethylene diisocyanate and 1,4-butanediol as raw materials.
The main classifications of polyurethane include polyether type, polyester type, polyimide type, polyurea type, etc. They can be made into polyurethane plastics (mainly foam plastics), polyurethane fibers (called spandex in China), polyurethane rubbers and elastomers and other materials.
What is polyurethane made of?
Polyurethane is a polyurethane material that combines polyols and diisocyanates through a chemical reaction, and its properties can be tailored by adjusting the composition and formulation of these components. Polyols contain multiple hydroxyl (OH) groups, while diisocyanates contain two isocyanate (NCO) functional groups.
In the production of polyurythane, these two components react together in a process called polyurethane polymerization. The reaction between polyols and diisocyanates forms polymer chains with repeating urethane bonds, thus forming polyeurethene.

What are track pads?

What are rail pads?
Track pads are important components in railway track structures. They are installed between rails and sleepers. Their main function is to buffer vibration and impact during train travel, protect the roadbed and sleepers, and achieve electrical insulation.
Using polyurethane material, they have high elasticity and wear resistance, and are mainly used to reduce the impact of track vibration on the surrounding environment.
How to install Rail pads?
The rail pads should be laid in the correct direction, with no error in length and in accordance with the regulations.
During installation, the construction method of long plates as the main and short plates as the auxiliary should be adopted. The joints of adjacent plates should be staggered and the position should be accurate.
The rail pads must be loaded evenly, and local loading is not allowed to avoid deformation of the track.
Construction personnel need to pay attention to safety at all times, be cautious in the use of tools and equipment, and pay attention to protective measures.
When installing the rail pads, waterproof measures should be taken to ensure that the connection between the rail pads and the foundation is firm and waterproof.
