Railroad Dog Spike Rail

Railway dog ​​spikes, also known as common spikes or hook spikes, are fasteners used to secure rails to sleepers on wooden sleeper lines. They feature a square cross-section, a chisel-shaped tip, and a hook at the top to secure the rail's bottom edge. Primarily made of mild steel, the pointed end is driven into the sleeper, while the hook presses against the bottom of the rail, securing it to the sleeper.
