Railroad track are divided into standard rails, shortened rails and non-standard rails to meet different design requirements. Rails can be divided into three categories according to their length: standard rails, shortened rails and non-standard rails. The main common length specifications of standard rails are 6 meters, 12.5 meters and 25 meters, among which 75000g/m rails are limited to 25 meters in length.
Shortened rails are often used to solve the track length problem caused by the radius difference in the inner strand of the curve. Its length is slightly shorter than the standard rail. For example, the 12.5-meter standard rail has three options of 12.46 meters, 12.42 meters and 12.38 meters, while the 25-meter rail has three options of 24.96 meters, 24.92 meters and 24.84 meters. Non-standard rails refer to rails that do not belong to the above lengths.
