50kg steel rail is suitable for lines with axle weight below 23 tons, annual gross weight below 50 million tons, and speed below 120 kilometers per hour. The selection of track model should consider three factors: train axle weight, gross weight and design speed. When used on freight lines, the sleeper spacing should be shortened to 550 mm, and the passenger line can be widened to 600 mm. In humid and rainy areas, it is recommended to use a modified model with drainage grooves at the bottom of the rail.
When used on heavy-load lines, it is recommended to set up rail gap expansion and contraction regulators every 3 kilometers to prevent track deformation caused by thermal expansion and contraction. For sections with a curve radius of less than 600 meters, gauge rods need to be installed on the inside of the track, and one group is arranged every 5 sleepers. The turnout area uses a reinforced rail waist with a special cross-section, the thickness is increased to 20 mm and a reinforcement is configured
When fish-scale cracks appear on the surface of the track, the stress concentration point can be eliminated by grinding with a grinding wheel, and the grinding depth shall not exceed 2 mm. When the remaining width of the rail head is less than 65 mm or the thickness of the rail waist is less than 14 mm, it must be replaced in time. In winter, when removing snow, be careful not to scratch the rail surface with sharp tools to prevent damage to the hardened layer.
