A rail screw spike, also called sleeper screw, rail screw or lag bolt, is a medium or large metal screw used to fasten a rail base plate or rail. Such spikes are always fastened into holes bored into the tie sleeper, sometimes together with imbedded plastic dowels, popularly used for rails with wooden sleepers, especially in America and Canada.

Ss35 Rail screw spike, also called Ss35 sleeper screw, Ss35 rail screw or Ss35 lag bolt, is a medium or large metal screw used to fasten a rail base plate or rail. Ss35 rail screw spike provides a mechanical interlock that delivers more than twice the holding power of conventional hammered rail spikes. It is an important fastener of W14 Rail Fastening System. Ss35 Rail Spike is used to fix the tie plate or fasten the rail to the concrete sleeper with the help of Sdu25 plastic dowel. It has a very similar one called DHS35 Sleeper Screw Spike. The difference between Ss35 Screw Spike and DHS35 Screw Spike is the shape of the head. Ss35 Screw Spike has a square head and the other has a tapered head.

RAW MATERIAL
Ss35 Screw spike is usually made of Q235,35#,45# steel in China. As its nail rod surface has thread, it get its name as screw spike. The pull-out resistance is 0.5 ~ 1.0 times larger than that of common rail spike, but the thrust resistance is 50% less.
