The E 2055 rail clip is specifically designed to provide effective and reliable fastening for various types of rail sections. It is commonly used in heavy-haul railway applications, where the track undergoes significant loads and stresses. The clip is manufactured using high-quality materials, such as spring steel, which offer excellent strength and durability.

What is the forging temperature of the e2055 rail clip?

For the E2055 (or similar high-quality spring steel) rail clip, the typical forging temperature is between 950°C and 1000°C (1742°F - 1832°F), a hot forging process where the steel is heated to become malleable for shaping in a press, but not so hot as to cause excessive decarburization, followed by quenching and tempering for toughness.

Key Steps in Forging:

  • Shearing: Spring steel bars are cut to length.

  • Heating: Bars are heated to the forging range (950-1000°C).

  • Forming: Heated rods are pressed into the clip shape.

  • Quenching: Clips are cooled rapidly in a tank to harden them.

  • Tempering: Heated to around 350°C (or sometimes 400-500°C) to achieve optimal toughness and spring properties.

To produce rail clips usually use spring steel bar as the raw materials, before heating, raw materials must be sheared according to the length required. Then they are heated to 950℃ to 1000℃, next works transfer the heated bar to power press for forging, in accordance with drawing three sets of dies and fixtures are kept before hammering. The following procedure is to convey the forged rail clips to quenching tank. Then check the dimensional accuracy and quench hardness of the rail clips. The next procedure is tempering to achieve appropriate toughness in the spring. And the final step is to pack the rail clips after serious inspection.
