Minor wear standard
In the case of slight side wear, it is generally manifested as uneven edges and corners on the side of the rail, but it cannot meet the scrap standard. The specific manifestation is that the length of the worn part on the side does not exceed 50mm, the wear depth does not exceed 5mm, and the wear area does not exceed 50 square millimeters. In this case, the track can continue to be used, but its wear and tear needs to be monitored.

Medium wear standard
Moderate wear refers to a state where the degree of lateral wear is between mild and severe. The specific manifestation is that the wear depth reaches 5mm or more, but does not exceed 8mm, and the length does not exceed 50mm. At this time, the track can be flipped and replaced for maintenance to avoid damaging the normal use of the railway.

Severe wear standard
In cases of severe side wear, it is usually manifested as a significant wear area on the rail side, exceeding the criteria for mild and moderate wear, and the wear depth has reached over 8mm. At this point, the track has reached the scrap standard and must be replaced and repaired.
In summary, the standard for minor wear on the side of the rail is: wear depth not exceeding 5mm, length not exceeding 50mm, and wear area not exceeding 50 square millimeters. Of course, this does not mean that the orbit can continue to be used, it still needs to be monitored and maintained. If the wear exceeds the minor standard, timely maintenance and replacement should be carried out to ensure the safe operation of the railway.
