What Are Railroad Spikes

Aug 13, 2025 Leave a message

Railway spikes are metal fastening devices used to secure rails in place. Typically manufactured from steel, these nail-like components feature a distinctive curved design. Installed at the base of rails, railway spikes are driven into wooden or concrete sleepers to firmly anchor the track. These fasteners play a critical role in both railway construction and maintenance operations.

GNEE RAIL can provide two types of railway spikes: dog spikes for wooden sleepers and screw spikes for concrete sleepers.

In addition to standard specifications of road spike products, GNEE RAIL also provides OEM production. If you have special customization requirements, please feel free to contact us.
