Railway Turnout Frog

A railroad frog, or turnout frog, railroad switch frog. It is a device that helps train wheels move from one track to another, with parts like a fork, wing rail, and connectors. It comes in fixed or movable types and can be straight or curved.

The railway turnout frog has the role of guiding train wheels smoothly during track switches, ensuring safe transitions between tracks, managing different routes, minimizing wear and tear, maintaining track alignment, and enhancing overall operational flexibility within the railway network.

Straight-line fixed frogs include rail combined frogs and cast frogs. Rail combined frogs have various parts like long and short rails, wing rails, short interval irons, and frog pads. While they're easy to work with, they need a lot of maintenance. Cast frogs are made of strong steel, hardening quickly under impact, providing good wear resistance and stability because the point and wing rails are cast together.

Railway turnout parts are a weak point in the railway system and play a crucial role in track safety. Choosing high-quality forks for the key components of turnouts is vital.
