5 common Steel rail standards
5 common rail standards, understand the global application differences in one article
As the core component of rail transportation, the standards and technical requirements of railway rails vary significantly in different countries and regions.
Currently, the most widely used rail standards in the international market mainly include: Chinese standards (such as GB ), American AREMA standards, European EN13674 standards, Russian GOST standards and Indian IS standards.
Each standard has slight differences in the cross-sectional shape, dimensional tolerance, material composition, mechanical properties and surface treatment of rails. For example, although the 60kg rail in the Chinese standard and the UIC60 in the European standard are similar in weight, the rail head and rail bottom dimensions are slightly different, which may affect the matching of the sleeper and fastener system.
Therefore, in multinational engineering projects, the standard selection of rails must be consistent with the design system of the country where the project is located, otherwise it may lead to installation difficulties or hidden dangers in use.
For exporting companies, being familiar with the rail standards of various countries and having multi-standard production and testing capabilities are the key to ensuring that products can enter overseas markets smoothly. At the same time, customers should also clarify the design specifications adopted in the project when purchasing to ensure the overall adaptability and stable performance of the rails and related fastener systems.
