How do Rail Clips work together with other Rail Fastenings?
Rail clips work with other fasteners, like tie plates and anchors, to securely fasten rails to sleepers by providing a clamping force, absorbing vibration, and preventing movement. The rail sits on the tie plate, which distributes the train's load onto the sleeper. The rail clip, typically made of spring steel, grips the tie plate and rail, holding it down and absorbing impact, while the anchor holds the clip to the sleeper.
