How to maintain the high elasticity of Rail Clips?
To maintain the high elasticity of rail clips, ensure proper installation by verifying the toe load, store them correctly to avoid environmental damage, and regularly inspect for wear and tear. Quality manufacturing and replacement of damaged clips are also critical for performance and safety.
Installation and assembly

- Check toe load: Regularly measure the toe load using a toe load measuring device to ensure it is within the correct specification, which is crucial for maintaining the clip's elastic function and preventing relative movement between the rail and sleeper.
- Correct alignment: Make sure the position of the rail clip, gauge block, and rail pad is correct. The front of the clip should have a three-point contact with the rail.
- Proper driving: Install clips so the outer leg is flush with the outer face of the CI insert for the correct toe load.
Storage and handling

- Protect from elements: Store clips in a clean, dry, and ventilated area away from direct sunlight, heat, and chemicals.
- Prevent moisture and corrosion: If stored outdoors, cover clips with a tarpaulin and place them on boards to keep them off the ground. Ensure rubber parts are not exposed to the sun.
- Proper stacking: Stack clips neatly and use detailed marks to identify them.
Regular maintenance

- Perform inspections: Conduct regular checks for signs of wear, such as cracks or corrosion, that could affect performance.
- Measure toe load: As part of the maintenance routine, measure the toe load periodically to ensure it is still within the specified range.
- Replace worn parts: Immediately replace any damaged or worn-out clips to prevent potential failures and maintain the track's integrity.
Quality assurance
- Use quality products: High-quality clips with the proper surface treatment and heat treatment (quenching and tempering) are essential from the manufacturing stage to maintain their elasticity and toughness.
- Meet fatigue standards: Ensure that new clips meet fatigue life requirements, such as surviving millions of load cycles without excessive residual deformation.
As an OEM & OBM manufacturer, GNEE RAIL is capable of not only producing a wide range of internationally common types of rail clips, such as W Tension Clamp, e-Clip, Fast-Clip, SKL Tension Clamp, Nabla Blade, etc., but also customizing products tailored to our customers' specific requirements.
