What are the manufacturing materials of railway spikes?
Railway spikes have very strict requirements on materials and performance. They usually use high-quality medium carbon steel or alloy steel as raw materials. After forming, they undergo heat treatment processes such as quenching and tempering and normalizing to improve their strength and wear resistance. In order to adapt to various climatic environments, some products will also undergo anti-corrosion treatments such as hot-dip galvanizing, Dacromet, and electrophoretic painting to ensure that they still maintain good structural stability under high humidity, high salt or extreme cold conditions.

Do you know the performance standards of railway spikes?
In international or Chinese standards, there are clear requirements for the performance of threaded spikes. For example, their tensile strength is usually required to be no less than 700MPa, and the accuracy level of the threaded parts must also comply with ISO or GB standards. In addition, the spikes must pass a series of rigorous tests before leaving the factory, such as tensile tests, torque tests, fatigue tests, etc., to ensure their safety and reliability in the railway system.
These strict performance standards not only ensure that the spikes are not easily damaged under high load and strong vibration conditions, but also enable them to stably fix the rails for a long time during railway operation, which is one of the important guarantees for safe railway operation.
