Special requirements for spike systems in high-speed railways

 

Due to the high speed, high vibration frequency, and axle load of trains, high-speed railways have put forward more stringent standards for the stability of the track system, and thus put forward special performance requirements for railway spikes.

 

In high-speed lines, ordinary spikes have been gradually eliminated due to their weak seismic resistance and fatigue resistance. They are replaced by more advanced elastic spiral spike systems, which have good elastic recovery and vibration buffering capabilities, and can effectively reduce the impact of train operation on sleepers and track structures.

 

In addition, high-speed railways have stricter control over the geometric accuracy of spikes, and usually require millimeter-level tolerance control to ensure a close fit between spikes, fasteners, and sleepers. Its surface treatment method has also been upgraded from traditional galvanizing to high-corrosion anti-corrosion processes such as Dacromet and hot zinc spraying to cope with complex environments such as high humidity and salt spray along the line.

 

After manufacturing, high-speed railway spikes must pass more stringent factory inspections, such as fatigue life tests of more than 200,000 times and limit load tests, to ensure that they are still reliable and stable in long-term high-speed operation environments.
