Railroad anchor is also called rail anchor, or railroad tie anchor. It is placed under the rail bottoms and clamp the rails with its curved design. Its side is pressed against the sleeper.
Rail anchors provide a large bearing surface against rail base and railroad tie, preventing cutting and wear, and eventually to prolong the working life of the railroad ties. Anchors are made for a specific rail weight and base width, which can be classified into two types: the Drive-on rail anchors and Spring type rail anchor.
Drive-on rail anchors
Installation method: The design enables it to be mounted to the rail by a vehicle or mechanical device drive, without the need for manual installation.
Improve efficiency: The use of drive machinery can greatly increase the installation speed and reduce the need for manual labor.
Enhance track stability: A drive-on rail anchor is particularly suitable for the construction and maintenance of large rail projects, such as high-speed railways, heavy haul railways, or large-scale track renovations.
Spring type rail anchor
Installation method: Unit wrench-on anchors are usually installed with the help of a wrench tool. When installed, the wrench tool is fixed to the track by making contact with the anchor. Because it is designed for tool operation, it provides a strong locking action to ensure track stability.
Stability: It is usually made of strong metal materials, which can provide high stability and anti-slip under the operating load of the railway. The shape design of the anchor helps to increase the friction between the rail and the sleeper, thereby reducing the risk of the track displacing during use.
