Rubber pads prevent sleeper wear and compression of the sleeper beneath the rail base. Rubber pads are typically designed with specific load-deflection characteristics. The initial stiffness of rubber pads is set relatively low to allow significant deformation under spring foot loads. This ensures that the rubber pad maintains tight contact with the rail even if vertical movement occurs.
Railway pads produced by GNEE RAIL feature higher stiffness, effectively preventing excessive rail movement when wheels pass over them and avoiding loosening of metal springs. By incorporating grooves into rubber pads, these load-deflection characteristics can be enhanced.
Grooved rail pad
There are grooves on the upper surface of the rubber pad, which can ensure that the bottom of the rail is always in close contact with the rubber pad, reducing the wear of the rubber pad. The middle of the rubber pad is set with a steel sheet to strengthen the lateral stiffness of the rubber pad. The thickness of the steel sheet is very thin, which is easy to roll up for transportation.
