What rail fastenings are compatible with rail pads?
Rail pads can prevent rail sleeper abrasion and the crushing of the sleeper under the rail foot. Rubber rail pads are normally designed to a specified load-deflection characteristic. The initial stiffness of the rail pad is designed to be low so that that their deformations under the springs toe loads is quite substantial.
Rail pads are compatible with various fastening systems, working with rail clips (like E-clips, SKL clips), baseplates (tie plates), screws (screw spikes, T-bolts), insulators (for gauge/current), guide plates, and sometimes directly with sleepers (concrete/wood) to absorb shock, reduce noise, and protect components in systems like E-Type, SKL, Fast, Fist, and WJ.
