Let's compare the difference between domestic and imported crane rails.

When it comes to rails, the first thing that comes to mind is the rails for trains. In fact, rails can be divided into rails for railways and crane rails. For example, crane rails and trolley rails are mainly used for heavy-duty and precision load-bearing machinery (gantry crane ground rails and crane rails), etc., and are widely used in port cranes, docks, warehouses, steel mills, power plants, shipyards, large machinery plants and other fields. Domestic crane rails are widely used in automated terminal projects.

1.Tensile strength:

Domestic crane rails are generally stable at 690MPa, while imported rails can reach 1080MPa. The more commonly used strength is 880MPa.

2.Track surface hardness:

Domestic 880MPA, which is the 90 kg level in China, has a general hardness of about 220HB, while the same level of imported crane rails generally guarantees a minimum hardness value of 260HB. The main reason for the gap is that foreign large factories all have long processes, and the key step that determines their composition, that is, steelmaking, is controlled by themselves; while domestic steel mills are generally short-process steel mills, and their raw materials, steel billets, are purchased from different domestic factories, resulting in unstable chemical composition of steel billets.

3.Service life:

The low strength of domestic products causes weak load capacity, and the service life and stability are greatly reduced. Imported crane rails have longer service life and stability because their production controls the whole process of raw materials, ironmaking, steelmaking and rolling.

4.Comprehensive cost:

On the surface, domestic materials seem to be cheap, but if their shorter service life and comprehensive cost are taken into account, imported materials are relatively more cost-effective. For example, domestic materials have a guaranteed service life of 2 years and a warranty of 1 year, with an average annual cost of 2,400 yuan; while imported crane rails have a warranty of 8 years.

Therefore, China basically uses imported crane rails in major projects. Due to their longer service life, they not only ensure the long-term stable operation of the project, but also reduce the comprehensive maintenance cost. If our company's crane rail products are to win in the new round of global competition, we need to work hard on refined production and small batch production.
