Elastic rail clip is one of the common railway fasteners in the railway system. In general, elastic rail clip is made of forged spring steel and has many applications. No matter as a part of rail fastening system or as a rail fastener, elastic rail clip is used with other railway track parts, such as railroad spike, rail pad, tie plate and plastic dowel.
Production Process of Elastic Rail Clips
Step 1: Raw Materials & Inspection
Round steel bars (φ13 mm) are inspected upon arrival and stored for production use.
Step 2: Cutting to Length
Bars are cut by hydraulic machine, with lengths controlled within 430 mm.
Step 3: Electric Heating
Bars are heated to 1050 °C in an induction furnace for about 10 seconds, ensuring clean, particle-free heating.
Step 4: Stamping & Forming
Heated bars are pressed and bent through three stamping operations, handled automatically by robotic transfer systems.
Step 5: Quenching
Clips with qualified shapes are quenched at 800 °C for 10 minutes using a mesh-belt tank.
Step 6: Tempering
After cooling, clips are tempered in a gas-heated furnace at about 400 °C for 90 minutes to enhance strength, toughness, and plasticity.
Step 7: Rust Prevention
Clips are coated with anti-rust liquid for surface protection.
Step 8: Final Inspection
Only clips passing strict inspection are approved as finished products.
