Both C45 and C46 are high-quality medium carbon steels. C45 steel (≈0.45% carbon) provides a balance of strength and toughness, ideal for components subject to impact and torque. C46 steel, with slightly higher carbon content, offers enhanced tensile strength suitable for heavy-load and high-speed railways. After hot forging and quenching-tempering treatment, these materials can reach mechanical grades from 5.6 to 8.8, effectively resisting vibration and fatigue stresses in track systems.
