The key role of railway spikes in heavy-load transportation
With the increasing global demand for the transportation of bulk goods such as minerals and energy, heavy-load railways have become an important direction for the development of railway construction. Heavy-load railway lines have extremely high durability requirements for the track system due to the heavy weight and frequent operation of trains.
As an important component connecting rails and sleepers, the performance of spikes directly affects the fatigue resistance of the track system. On heavy-load lines, it is recommended to use high-strength spiral spikes or special reinforced threaded spikes, which have greater anchoring force and stronger impact resistance, and can effectively resist the lateral and longitudinal load impact caused by frequent train passage.
In addition, in order to improve its wear and corrosion resistance, heavy-load special spikes are often made of alloy steel, and the surface treatment uses a multi-layer protective coating to ensure that they are still reliable in harsh environments such as high dust and acid rain.
In daily operation and maintenance, the inspection cycle of heavy-load line spikes is also shortened accordingly, and it is usually required to conduct a comprehensive status inspection every quarter and replace them when necessary. It can be said that the quality level of spikes directly determines the operational safety and maintenance cost of heavy-load railway lines.
