Standards and Overview
German standard rail: German standard rail (DIN1809), abbreviated as German standard rail, is mainly used in railway track construction in Europe and Germany.
National standard steel rail: China National Standard Steel Rail (GB/T 2585-2007), abbreviated as National Standard Steel Rail, is suitable for railway track construction within China.

Difference
There are certain differences in chemical composition and mechanical properties between German standard rails and national standard rails. German standard rails usually use high carbon steel, which has high strength and wear resistance, while national standard rails choose medium carbon steel or high carbon steel according to different applications. In addition, German standard rails have higher tensile strength, yield point, and elongation than national standard rails.
There are also differences in size specifications between German standard rails and national standard rails. Specifically, the gauge of German standard rails is 1435mm, which is the same as the international standard gauge, while the gauge of national standard rails is determined according to the standards of Chinese railways. In addition, the cross-sectional shape of German standard steel rails is different from that of national standard steel rails. The cross-section of German standard steel rails is more complex, which can provide better load-bearing capacity and stability.
There are also differences in production technology and quality control between German standard rails and national standard rails. The steel industry in Germany holds an important position in the world, with relatively complete production processes and quality control systems that can ensure the quality and stability of steel rails. Although China's steel industry is developing rapidly, further improvements are needed in production processes and quality control. Therefore, there may be some quality fluctuations and unstable factors in the production process of national standard steel rails.
