Rails are the primary components of railway tracks, ensuring safe, stable, and efficient train transportation. Rails can be categorized into multiple types.
By weight classification
Rail models are typically distinguished by weight. For example, '50 rail' and '60 rail' refer to rails weighing 50kg/m and 60kg/m, respectively.
Similarly, models include 38kg/m, 43kg/m, 50kg/m, 60kg/m, and 75kg/m. Rails of 43kg/m and above are generally termed heavy rails.

By manufacturing process classification
Rails are mainly divided into hot-rolled rails and heat-treated rails. All rails are initially produced via hot-rolling. Heat-treated rails undergo secondary heat treatment after hot-rolling, categorized as online heat treatment or offline heat treatment.

By strength classification
The three most critical performance metrics for rails are strength, hardness, and toughness, which are interrelated. Among these, strength is paramount, with common grades including 780MPa, 880MPa, and up to 1450MPa.
By application classification
For high-speed railways (HSR) and conventional railways: tracks within stations typically use 60kg/m rails (some station tracks use 50kg/m), while main lines also employ 60kg/m rails. However, HSR rails demand higher requirements for surface straightness and dimensional tolerances. GNEE RAIL strictly adheres to GB standards throughout production, implementing a rigorous quality inspection system from manufacturing to completion. Rails are only certified when their quality meets or exceeds standards.\

Additionally, specialized railways exist. First, heavy-haul railways generally use specially manufactured 75kg/m rails to significantly extend service life. Second, extreme-cold railways (specifically the Qinghai-Tibet line traversing permafrost zones) require rails with high cold/corrosion resistance, utilizing specially engineered 60kg/m rails. GNEE RAIL produces railway rails from premium steel grades such as U71Mn, U75V, and U78CrV. We also provide product customization services per client requirements, ensuring our rails guarantee operational efficiency. For detailed product information, contact us.
