What Components Constitute A Rail

Railway rail is referred to as track, rail, track, etc. It is used on the railway, and in cooperation with the switch, so that the train can move without turning. The track is usually composed of two parallel rail, rail fixed on the rail pillow, sleeper under the road ballast, also including roadbed, rail connection parts.

Rails comprise key structural elements: the rail head, web, rail tail, fishing angle, and rail height. Design requirements and primary considerations for these components are outlined below.

Rail Head-The rail head requires sufficient depth to withstand vertical wear. GNEE-produced rails feature heads with adequate width to provide a broader running surface while delivering requisite lateral rigidity.

Web-Our rail webs possess sufficient thickness to endure stresses from imposed loads following normal corrosion.

Rail Tail-GNEE rail tails are thick enough to withstand vertical and horizontal forces after corrosion loss, and sufficiently wide to ensure anti-overturning stability.

Fishing Angle-The fishing angle must ensure proper load transfer from the rail to the fishplate. Its inclination should prevent excessive stress on the rail web during fishplate fastening.

Rail Height-Rail height must be adequate to guarantee sufficient vertical stiffness and beam strength.

GNEE RAIL-manufactured heavy rails, light rails, and crane rails exhibit the following characteristics:

  • Our rails feature the most economical cross-section, balancing strength, rigidity, and durability.
  • The rail cross-section's neutral axis approaches mid-height to equalize maximum tensile and compressive stresses.
  • Metal distribution across rail sections is economically balanced, ensuring each zone fully meets operational demands.
