Australian standard Rail
The Australian standard AS 1085.1, which is titled "Railway Track Material Part 1: Steel Rails," is established by the Standards Australia Committee. In AS 1085.1-2002, five rail profiles are outlined: 31 kg/m, 41 kg/m, 50 kg/m, 60 kg/m, and 68 kg/m. For heavy rails of 50 kg/m and above, specific chemical composition and two strength grades are specified. These include hot-rolled rails with strength exceeding 880 MPa and hardness surpassing 260 HB, and heat treatment rails with strength surpassing 1,130 MPa and hardness greater than 340 HB.
