Execution standard for 43kg steel rails
This standard specifies the requirements for the dimensional parameters, physical properties, chemical composition, surface quality, and manufacturing process of 43kg/m steel rails.

1. Dimensional parameters
The size parameters of 43kg/m steel rails shall comply with the provisions of Table 1,
Table 1 Size Parameters of 43kg/m Rail
Rail height/mm rail head width/mm rail waist thickness/mm top width/mm bottom width/mm gauge/mm
140 68 25 75 60 1435
2. Physical properties
43kg/m steel rails should have good physical properties, including tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, and impact toughness. The specific requirements are as follows
Tensile strength: not less than 600MPa.
Yield strength: not less than 320MPa.
Elongation rate: not less than 20%.
Impact toughness: not less than 20J/cm.

3. Chemical composition
The chemical composition of 43kg/m steel rails should comply with relevant national standards and high-quality carbon structural steel should be selected. The specific ingredient requirements are as follows:
Carbon (C): 0.25%~0.35%.
Silicon (Si): 0.15%~0.35%
Manganese (Mn): 0.45%~0.65%
Phosphorus (P): not greater than 0.035%.
Sulfur (S): not greater than 0.035%.
Other elements (such as Cr, Ni, etc.): added as needed, but in accordance with relevant national standards.
4. Surface quality
The surface quality of 43kg/m steel rails should meet the following requirements
The surface is smooth and flat, without obvious scratches, cracks or other defects.
5. Manufacturing process
The manufacturing process of 43kg/m steel rails should meet the following requirements:
The steel rails manufactured using continuous casting billets or steel ingots as raw materials, through homogenization treatment, rolling, straightening and other process flows, should have good geometric shape and dimensional accuracy.
